Asturias, closer to you
Learn about the requirements to visit Covadonga and the Lakes
The Covadonga Lakes are one of the most visited tourist areas in Asturias throughout the year. In order to protect the Picos de Europa National Park, a declared Biosphere Reserve, a plan has been designed to regulate access to the Lakes and Covadonga. The plan controls access to such places, due to the massive influx of tourists during Easter and Summer, by using public transport. The rest of the year these places can be visited by private vehicles without any access restriction.
Access to the Lakes and Covadonga by public transport is regulated through a network of car parks and a bus transport system.
Prevent traffic jams, trouble and waiting times on the road and enjoy your stay by following our recommendations.
The operating calendar is as follows:

- La Constitución long bank holiday weekend: 6 to 9 October inclusive.
