Abolition of the need for submitting documents to the Government of the Principality of Asturias

The Government of the Principality of Asturias obeys the Law 11/2007 on Electronic Access of Citizens to Public Services.

From now the following documents do not need to be submitted in administrative proceedings with the Government of the Principality of Asturias:

  • Copy of the Spanish National Identification Card (D.N.I.) or Foreigner’s Identification Number (N.I.E.)
  • Census certificate
  • Certificate of compliance with tax obligations with the Tax Office of the Principality of Asturias
  • Certificate of compliance with tax obligations with the National Tax Office
  • Certificate of compliance with obligations with the Social Security Scheme

If I do not submit any document, how does the Government verify the accuracy of my information?

The Government of the Principality of Asturias is electronically connected with other administrations, and it shares information with them. You need to authorize the Asturian Government to get such information.

The authorization is granted if you do not fill the box of the following paragraph which appears at the end of all application forms of the Asturian Government:

I do not authorize the Government of the Principality of Asturias to obtain legally relevant information within the framework of collaboration with other administrations. Therefore, I shall submit the documents requested by the Asturian Government.

Which are the advantages?

Your relationship with the Government of the Principality of Asturias will be more ecological, receptive and suitable to your needs. In short, you will save paper and time, because you will not need to scan or photocopy your documents or request them to other administrations. Therefore, the application process will be easier, and faster.

Is there any exception?

The abolition of the need to submit documents only applies to administrative proceedings which are being handled by the Government of the Principality of Asturias, except for tax proceedings. With regard to public recruitment procedures, specific regulations must be taken into account.

The abolition of the need to submit a copy of your D.N.I or N.I.E does not mean you have the right to not show your D.N.I. or N.I.E. when your identity needs to be proven, e.g. in competitive recruitment exams.

Is there any other document that does not need to be submitted?

The Government of the Principality of Asturias is working to implement all the required technical measures to authorize, as soon as possible, the non-presentation of new documents.
