Early Infant Care Unit

Provides children with development disorders the necessary support

DEFINITION

Infant Care Facility where specialized multiprofessional teams define, coordinate and facilitate personalized sets of measures for children with development disorders or at a risk of suffering from them, as well as for their families, and provide them with necessary support so that they might maximally develop their potential.

OBJECTIVES

To offer a specialized complete care addressed to children with development disorders or at a risk of suffering from them and to their families. This care includes preventive aspects as well as assistance in order to make possible greater social integration of a child in the different contexts of his personal development.

PARTICIPANTS

Children between 0 and 6 years with development disorders or at a risk of suffering from them, by biological or social reasons, as well as their families.

PRINCIPAL ACTIONS

 In close coordination with the health, social and education systems, within the scope of autonomous community cooperate and drive different programs including primary and secondary prevention levels.

  • Sensibilization and prevention informative programs.
  • Detection and early diagnosis programs.
  • To elaborate personalized development plans including specialized direct care to a child and his family, as well as the prescription of supports and specific models for the different contexts of child’s development.
  • All units are coordinated with the ONCE to provide services to children with sensory deficits.
